The Joy Along the Trail of Tears

Here is Ethan's cool new blue room with the racing stripe. The ultra sound technician today assured me that the baby is still a boy so we won't regret committing to the blue paint.

Ethan has been falling asleep in crazy places--it is an adventure every night to go in a few hours after he goes to bed and discover where he drifted off...last night it was in the glider, a few nights before that it was on the floor on this boppy pillow. That freedom to get out of bed is just too tempting I suppose.




And this is Ethan during music time gallopping along to the "cowboy needs a horse" song that Kyle grew up on. The song talks about how a cowboy needs a horse and a hat and some boots and a song, so at one point Ethan was also wearing my crocs along with that hilarious red dinosaur hat. I tell you what, we're getting pretty creative around here to pass all these hours where mom is just supposed to sit. :)



And one more funny story: You know Zach's Sunday night cereal tradition? Well, we don't always do it at our house, but on Sunday night Kyle decided he wanted to have a bowl of cereal as a snack. I have been out of commission and keeping our pantry stocked and being ahead of the grocery game has not been a priority for me, so we're just trying to get by. Anyway, Kyle picked up a box of his first choice and shook it and realized there wasn't even enough in it for a whole bowl, so he picked up another to discover the same thing... pretty soon he had all of these boxes in his arms and was still hoping to find a box with enough cereal for a full bowl. I was laughing so hard I thought I might put myself into labor.
