So, I serendipidously ran across the talk that Al gave around New Years that was about Christmas being the promise of things to come... and I am now sitting at my computer reading it, bawling my eyes about. All that imagery about a woman in travail and joy coming at the end of our suffering. Pretty real. (Although, I think that the scripture about immediately after her travail she remembereth her sorrow no more must have been written by a man, because there is still a lot of pain after labor is over. Oh well.) Anyway, this was my favorite part today:
"Just as Christ’s suffering and Gethsemane later culminated in his resurrection, we can also look forward to joy at the end of our suffering, and all because of him – he has promised it –"
Just a friendly reminder to be passed around our family that whatever you are struggling with, it will ultimately yield joy, so hang in there.
I love you guys! Thanks for great insights, Al, several months ago, and recycled now, when I need them in a different way. :)
PS--5-6 weeks left, depending on a few things :) Woo hoo! And it was 70 degrees this morning! Wow. Nice change from 100-105, eh?
